El Último Islote - Plastic has become an indispensable part of our lives, yet we are all aware of its negative aspects. We often hear about the plastic soup in the ocean, which is difficult to combat because plastic is hardly biodegradable and causes great damage to the environment. We use plastic because of its positive aspects; think of food packaging, for example. In addition, plastic is increasingly being collected for recycling, rather than being dumped in the environment.
Plastic is a material that I transform into a new reality, one that brings together its organic and inorganic elements. Once transformed, plastic becomes an image that naturally fits into my world. By playing with light and movement, I look for dynamics and abstraction. Rather than focusing on plastic as a burden, I take a hopeful view: the start of something new.
