Morocco is a country where time seems to stand still. Going there feels like reopening a door after many years. I have roots in both the Netherlands and Morocco, yet I’ve never fully connected with either culture. Not being deeply rooted in one culture gives me the freedom to explore different worlds. These days, I experience this country in an entirely new way, mysterious and intriguing; partly because I don’t speak the language.
Morocco’s slow rhythm of life and strong cultural identity have allowed it to remain authentic, despite modern influences. This is my ongoing project: a journey on which I continue to discover new aspects of Morocco. It’s an opportunity to dig deeper, to lose myself in time, and re-experience and absorb the essence of this fascinating country.
